KU research in top 50 after 50 percent growth in just the past five years
Despite an unprecedented two-year slide in federal funding for science and engineering nationwide, KU faculty earned research grants that boosted KU to the 44th place overall for the 2007 fiscal year, one spot higher than 2006. Research awards at KU have soared to a record $218 million, a 50 percent increase in just the past five years.
